The purpose of this orientation is to introduce you to Greek, Latin, and Medical terminology and basic massage strokes to give you a solid base to become a massage therapist. By the end of this course, you will know how the body is made and how it works. You will be able to use that information to critically think, provide a foundation for assessment, and help you understand when it is appropriate or inappropriate to perform a massage.

3Quiz Fundamentals 1.1 - Classifications of TouchStudents have a designated amount of time to complete quizzes/tests equivalent to the amount of time given on the National Examination MBLEx of 1.2 minutes per question. If student has not completed the quiz/test in the allocated time, all incorrect answers will be marked as such. Example: Test A is 100 questions. Student answers 50 questions and gets 5 incorrect. The student will earn a 45% on that quiz/test (50 minus the 5 they missed minus the 50 they did not answer = 45) Online students must receive an 75% average in quizzes/tests in order to progress to the next topic. Students must retake quizzes until their average score reaches 75%. Example: Student A receives a 40% on Test 1, 80% on Test 1 the 2nd time, and a 90% on Test 1 the 3rd time. Student A would not be able to progress because their average score is 70% (40% + 80% + 90% = 210/3 =70%). Student A would have to retake the test a 4th time and achieve a grade of 90% or higher to progress; (40% + 80% + 90% +90%= 300/4 =75%). Students are encouraged to begin quizzes/tests ONLY AFTER they are sure they comprehend the information presented. If a student gets lower than a 75% twice, they should email grading@schooloftmt.com BEFORE taking it a 3rd time to obtain help. If a student is unsatisfied with a grade they may email grading@schooloftmt.com along with the question(s) they believe they got correct and why to initiate a dispute.
